Responsible for:

  • Utilizing Houdini's RBD Material Fracture SOP and Substance Designer to create a broken wooden spear that matched the practical prop, ensuring a seamless transition when the main character breaks the spear in half on screen.

  • Receiving and aligning tracked geometry of the sticks in the actors' hands with the CG model for accurate positioning and interaction.

  • Created all lighting for the shots to realistically integrate the CG spear with the live-action footage.

  • Customized a blood material applied to the spear after it was "stabbed" into another actor.

  • Creating geometry and a shadow pass to cast realistic shadows from the spear onto the practical footage.

  • Setting up all texturing in Substance Designer to create both the clean and bloody versions of the spear.
